Russian Ballet Orlando Partners with Osphere for Ukrainian Relief

March 8th, 2022 (ORLANDO, FL) - Russian Ballet Orlando, Osphere Neighborhood Grill and Bar, and other community businesses will be hosting a fundraiser for Ukrainian relief efforts. “Orlando for Ukraine” fundraiser will take place this Saturday, March 12th from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Ukrainian born and raised Katerina Fedotova, RBO Artistic Director, moved from Kyiv to Orlando with her family in 1997 with hopes to experience "The American Dream".

The Dream was born in May 2000 in a small 2000 sq ft studio at Plaza Theater (now Plaza live) in Downtown Orlando. Now Russian Ballet Orlando is the largest professional performing company in Florida and leading Vaganova training academy for children.

Artistic Director, Katerina Fedotova, has been recognized as one the most driven, motivated, and fearless leaders in the ballet world. Her mission was to create a safe and inspiring environment, where dancers support and build each other up, and appreciate the power of diversity between each other. She was able to achieve that goal with her kindness, warmth, and love for every child. Earning the highest respect from every student, parent, and our community.

The attack on Ukraine was heartbreaking news igniting fear for the safety of her relatives and friends back home. Katerina immediately found ways to help the people in her home country.

"I can not be more grateful for the support of our families," says Katerina.

“Within a week over $14,000 was donated by registered students at the Russian Ballet Orlando. And now we are reaching out to our community to come together and help people in Ukraine.”

Local businesses have partnered with RBO and Fedotova to contribute a portion of their sales on Saturday. Osphere will donate 30% of all food and drinks that day. Local boutiques will showcase their clothing and accessories and will donate 30% of all proceeds. Barnard Martin, a local artist, will donate 100% from every painting sold. Live entertainment will be provided by Joseph Martins, DJ Down Dog, and singers from Opera Del Sol.

The fundraising event is free to attend. All are welcome to participate, purchase food, drinks, a boutique item, or painting. Attendees can also give a donation online or in person.

Proceeds will be sent to Global Unites, a US nonprofit 501c3 organization that helps raise funds Worldwide. Donations will then go directly to New Life Charity in Kyiv, Ukraine to purchase food and basic needs for the

Ukrainian people.
